The Process
Collaborating with the Bremner's on their wedding design was a dream come true. Steph is an Interior Designer, so we worked together seamlessly! From day one, the vision for their wedding was very clear and intentional. In her own words, Steph wanted the wedding to be “classy, dreamy, relaxed, cohesive, comfortable, and simple.”
The first step was creating moodboards that focused on the visual theme — which was inspired by minimalist art deco linework and arches. After determining and locking in the design direction, I created the monogram as a launching point for the rest of the designs. As I approached the invitation suite though, we ran into a little challenge; the couple initially wanted the shapes of each card to be a combination of full and half arches stacked on top of each other, but the dielines were out of budget. The question then became, “how will we achieve the perception of overlapping arch shapes without breaking the bank?” Funny enough, the solution came to me in the shower, so I quickly drew it on the glass door before getting out and sketching the concept on paper.
The final design turned out almost exactly how I imagined it and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Once the monogram was finished, the type was selected, the suite was designed, and the colors were dialed in, I wrapped up the project with matching envelopes and a cohesive wedding website. I’m so honored that Steph and Russ entrusted me with their wedding design and I hope we’ll have an opportunity to work together again in the future!
